Yoga and a Wish: Set your Intentions for the New Year

  • Ethos Yoga 113 South Saginaw Street Holly, MI, 48442 United States (map)

Ring in the New Year with Candace and Kristin as we promote renewal and rejuvenation of the soul through an inspiring combo of yoga practice and Cherokee tradition. In this special workshop, we’ll call in the year you most desire by cultivating Sankalpa - setting intentions based on connecting to your most heartfelt desires and channeling your divine energy within. Resolutions are generally based on some perceived negative aspect that something is not "good enough" and are predominately rooted in egotistic comparisons to others. This mindset leads us to impose limitations on ourselves based on these ego-driven fears. On the other hand, Sankalpa is based on the premise that YOU already are enough! Through Sankalpa, we stop the unwarranted materialistic comparisons to others and set aside our egoistic limits and expectations. True intention is intertwined with exploring the wisdom of your heart, awareness of your true self, and connection with the universal soul. Leave those resolutions and their baggage at the door and promote your New Year with positive ambitions and enlightenment! This gentle yoga practice is suitable for beginners as well as seasoned yogis. Candace will lead us in creating Cherokee Wish Anklets to seal our intentions. She will share the tradition of the anklet and how it is used in Cherokee Medicine. All anklets will be smudged and blessed by the Cherokee Morning Song.

  • All materials provided for the wish anklet workshop

  • Participants will need to bring a yoga mat
