Introducing

Birch & Bramble

An open-ended, ever-changing, cyclical apprenticeship to the place we inhabit.

Birch and Bramble will be a monthly donation-based membership. It has been created so we can walk the animistic, earth-honoring, spiritual path of our ancestors in community and in a sustainable way.

The “wellness” spaces have done a great job in answering the social need for community. You can’t open social media without seeing an advertisement for a sister’s circle or retreat. However, these things are not accessible to all. They’re extremely expensive and only last short periods of time, often only scratching the surface or planting seeds for the deeper work. In order to cultivate true belonging to place and person, we must also become rooted to where our feet are and the nonhuman. Not just on weekend retreats but in our everyday lives

Our indigenous ancestors were animistic, they viewed the entirety of what makes up the world as a living breathing entity with paths and purpose of their own. They revered nature and held the plants, animals, elements and spirits in ceremony. I’ve found that this has been the missing link for many in embodying belonging, and connection to something bigger than themselves.

The birth of Birch and Bramble is the answer to a nagging question that’s been on my heart for years, “How can we walk daily the earth honoring path of our ancestors, in community, in a sustainable way?” Birch and Bramble is a monthly journey, where we will walk with one being side by side. The purpose of working with one at a time is to create a spacious container that allows for deep relationships. Content about this plant, animal, element, or spiritual foothold will be sent to your inbox on the first of every month. This will include intellectual information, myth and lore, ceremony, and dreaming practices. There will be a once-a-month meet-up over Zoom or in person, depending on the season, theme, and where you’re at in the world.

This apprenticeship is open-ended, as is our relationship with the animistic world. There is no end. You may choose to travel with us for only a month, or you may choose to commit yourself to a year. You may weave in and out as the natural world cycles, or you may root yourself to this path indefinitely. Birch and Bramble is donation-based. Once you have signed up you will be added to our group forum, donations will be due monthly to receive the content. This donation is put toward the research, writing time, and space holding I will be providing for the trail. The recommended donation is $25 monthly, but this scale goes from $0-$50. It is my deepest belief that those who are able to pay at the top of the scale will do so in order to help support those who are not able to budget this in. We are meant to walk this path together.

Birch and Bramble begins in December 2024.

You can step in or out at any time. We will begin on the path with rose-hips. I hope to see you on the trail.
