Ashtanga - Full Primary Series

This 1.5-hour workshop-based class explores the primary series Ashtanga practice, on which our short-form Ashtanga classes are based. 

We will explore the traditional sequence of sun salutations, standing postures, and a wide array of seated poses before finishing our closing postures. There will be a short discussion on the eight-limbed path of yoga, including time in the limbs of meditation and breathwork.

This class can be modified for newbies, experienced yogis, and yoginis. Please bring your mat and a notebook should you wish to take notes. Led by Heather Barnes, who has had an ashtanga practice for twenty years.

Hi, I’m Heather Barnes. I’ve been practicing since 2001 and teaching since 2007. Yoga has helped me feel at home in my body, and I love sharing the practice with others. My focus is exploring a functional, sustainable approach while respecting the tradition of the practice. I aim to provide classes that are relevant to everybody.
